Raleigh Amphitheater - Summer Music Fun!

The Raleigh Amphitheater is open in downtown Raleigh!! They will keep the name Raleigh Amphitheater for the time being, as the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission denied the request for the amphitheater to be named after Bud Light. But at least the Raleigh Amphitheater is an easy name to remember!

The Amphitheatre holds 5,500 people, about 1,000 that will fit on the sloped lawn at the back. On the concrete in front of the lawn are 1,800 fixed seats and room for up to 2,700 movable seats.

The amphitheater is located at 500 S McDowell St. in downtown Raleigh, and their box office is adjacent to the main gate. There are two other gates, both on Lenoir Street. Gate No. 2 is at McDowell Street, while gate No. 3 is at Dawson Street.

Looking for a great way to give back and support our community?! Check out the Western Wake Farmer's Market in Morrisville! Every Saturday, April through October, the Western Wake Farmers Market is open from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. It is located on Morrisville Carpenter Rd. between Davis Dr. and Hwy. 55 in Carpenter Village.

The Western Wake Farmer's market mission is for all people in the community to become educated about and benefit from locally grown food. Their aim is to help all walks of life, from the farmers to the local community members to those less fortunate who might need assistance through the local food bank.

Every week they have so much going on at the market! Next Saturday, July 17th they have 'Learning @ the Market' with Suzanne Tilton, Butterfly Lady . You'll learn about the life cycle of the butterfly, what to plant in your garden to attract butterflies and caterpillars, and the importance of butterflies in a healthy environment. You'll be able to see live butterfly eggs, caterpillars, chrysalises and adult Painted Lady butterflies on display. And you won't want to miss the live butterfly release at 11:30 a.m.! Summer Fun with The Durham Bulls!

SUMMER IS HERE!!! Looking for something fun and exciting to do with family and friends this summer?!? Check out Durham's minor league baseball team, the Durham Bulls!! The Durham Bulls are the Triple A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays and are the International League Champions of 2002, 2003, and 2009. Currently the Bulls are ranked number 1 in their division, with the closet team being 9 games behind!!

31st Annual Artsplosure - The Raleigh Arts Festival 2010

Celebrate spring at Artsplosure - The Raleigh Arts Festival on May 15th and 16th!Artsplosure is a free, outdoor, two-day annual celebration of the arts!!

Artsplosure's mission is to produce high quality annual festivals that celebrate excellence in the performing and visual arts; to promote and bring recognition to national, regional, and local artists; and to bring artists and the larger community together to improve the quality of life and cultural environment.

The Art Market will have ceramics, fiber art, glass, jewelery, metal art wood art, photography, paintings, and 2D and 3D art. Times are from 11am-7pm on Saturday and 10am-5pm on Sunday.

Live Music will also be provided on Saturday from 1pm-10pm and Sunday from 11am-6pm.

The kids will have a lot to do at Kidsposure also!! A list of the activities include:

Create colorful bands of color to wear on your head or around your wrists. Let the colors fly as you twirl your way through the festival.

Looking for a fun event for the whole family?? Beach Music Thursdays are back at North Hills in Raleigh!

Midtown Beach Music Concert Series is getting ready kick off for another great summer! April 15th will be the first one of the year, and they will run through August 26th. These events take place at the Commons of North Hills from 6pm until 9pm every Thursday of the summer. It's a great place to meet up with friends or take the whole family out for a night of fun and dancing!!
