North Carolina Art Museum

With the weather turning cooler it's the perfect time to be outdoors!! Did you know that the North Carolina Art Museum has art trails outside?? The Art Museum has 164 acres of land and they have spread out artwork on their trails. There are trails for you to run or walk on (dogs are allowed on specified trails), and to bike on! They also have picnic areas so you can make a whole day of it with family or friends!!

Don't worry if it rains on the day you picked to picnic and walk the trails, you can check out the museum's newly expanded 127,000-square-foot building! On the occasion of the expansion, the museum has acquired more than 100 new works of art in addition to their permanent collections! As you look around you will see collections from Ancient America, Africa, Europe, Modern and Contemporary Collections, and more!

While you are strolling around the museum and start to get hungry, don't worry because they have a restaurant for you to visit! Iris is a full service restaurant that features contemporary American cuisine with regional and international flavors in a modern setting.

During the summer months, you can also catch concerts and movies on the lawn at the museum! The North Carolina Museum of Art has so much to offer Raleigh, everyone should make it a point to stop by and visit!
